Welcome to Year 5's Class Page
Spring term brings us to a new year and a new topic. This term our topic is the Victorians and we are reading ‘The Street Child’. I would like to thank you for your help and support throughout last term, it is very much appreciated. We will be focusing on our writing and spelling this term especially. Also reading at home is a huge focus in school so I would be grateful if you could ensure your child keeps their reading book up to date.
We will carry on our PE every Thursday afternoon. I wish to have lessons outside as much as possible therefore if your child could bring a kit suitable for outdoor such as: tracksuit bottoms/leggings, a t-shirt, trainers and a jumper. Don’t worry about certain colours for this year I would just like to get the children outside.
Homework will be given out on a Wednesday – Spellings and Reading. Also in class your child can collect worksheets etc. for extra if they require it. Please encourage your child to read. It can be a book, magazine, comic, anything really that helps encourage your child to read for pleasure.
We also have our Easter play next term which I’m sure your excited about. We will be starting our practicing next term.
I look forward to carrying on our work to help your child reach their full potential. If you have any queries or concerns throughout this next term, please do not hesitate to pop in and arrange a time to discuss these. Thank you
