Year 5 EASTER PLAY
This week during HOLY WEEK our Year 5 class delivered a superb performance of 'The Three Little Trees.'
Couldn't be more than proud of Year 5! Each one of them were fantastic!
Welcome to Year 5's class page.
Hope you all have had a wonderful Christmas break. We begin 2019 with plenty to look forward to. This term we have our Easter play and our first class trip. We have new areas to learn this year including things to develop.
Our next topic of the term is Victorians. We will be looking at who they were, where they came from and what impact they brought to the world. We will link our topic to our English topic book and also look at various creative opportunities they brought to us. In English we will be focusing on 'The Street Child'.
As an extra area of our topic we look at local history within the local area.
PE will be every Wednesday afternoon. Please could you ensure that your child has their P.E. kits in school at all times, this will ensure that they can be included in all lessons and not miss any opportunities for PE.
I would like to take the children outside for PE as much as possible this term therefore PE kit is as follows;
- White T-shirt
- Shorts/Track suit bottoms
Kits must then be collected by the end of the half term!
As you are aware we will not be giving out set homework however your child will still be given weekly spellings to learn and encouraged to read and learn times tables. Spellings will be given out on Monday and will need to be returned the following Monday.
Reading books will be given out on a Wednesday if not on Free Reading. Please ensure your child returns their book on a Monday if they want it changing as it becomes difficult when changing books each day.
Your child should also be practising essential key skills of maths including their timetables, telling the time, etc.
Our school website has a variety of resources that you and your child can access at home. It would be great if occasionally during the week you practice this with your child to help their development.
If you have any queries or concerns throughout the year, please do not hesitate to pop in and have a chat.
