Warm Weather
In warm weather girls may wear summer dresses – (pale blue and white gingham check or stripes) available from most children’s clothes stores. Sandals may be worn that are black, white or brown but they must have an ankle strap and cover the toes for health and safety reasons.
P.E. kits need to be kept in a pump bag with your child’s name on it.
P.E. kit should be left in school during the week and taken home for washing only at weekends or during holidays
All items of clothing (including PE kits and bags) should be labelled clearly with your child’s name
Your child is responsible for looking after their belongings. We cannot be responsible for any loss or damage. Lost property will be held until the end of one half-term.
Personal Appearance
Children should make every effort to be neat and tidy. Long hair should be tied back for health and hygiene. No child should have extreme hair styles, cuts or colours.
Make-up and nail varnish are not allowed. No jewellery should be worn in school. Earrings can be worn but only small, plain studs. Earrings must be removed for PE. If a child has recently had their ears pierced, he/she should cover the earrings for PE with plasters until they are healed and the pupil is able to remove them by him/herself. This rule is standard for the safety of all pupils. Agencies providing PE activities will not allow pupils to participate if they do not remove/cover them. Accidents could also happen in the playground. Based on health and safety we, therefore, advise that it is a parental decision as to whether they feel it is safe for their child to wear earrings.
